Ache..

Man im really aching at the moment, when the school closes i'll go to the drugstore and get something to take the ache away a little. Hopefully i will shake this flu off in a couple of days.

I've been trying to get info about some courses here in Brasilia, courses for teaching English. I emailed one place called RLC Schools but their email address no longer exists and also their website isnt working properly so i gave up with them and decided to try another place called Englishhome instead. They are the nearest places that do both CELTA and ACELT and i wanna see how much they are going to charge for those courses. There was also a place called Sevenidiomas but they are only based in Sao Paulo and there is no way that i am going to travel all that way and they have no online courses available too. I know a person at Cultura Inglesa and i will email him to see if he can give me some info too. I'd like to complete some of these types of courses to help me teach English better and also because it will help open the door to the better paying schools hahaha!

I wanted to visit SBS today but they are closed until the first week of Jan next year. I went downtown to check out some other bookstores and they had quite a few English books but want to charge sometimes 10 or more times the original costs of the books in the USA or UK. What a rip-off!! At Sbs I get 20% discount on everything i buy there so i will visit them in the new year and see what they have on offer. Roberta will probably go too as she loves English and loves visiting this place :-) Their website says they dont have any books by Dan Brown, who wrote The Da Vinci Code but maybe thats because they havent added it to the website yet. I'll check it out when i go to the store next week if i can find a couple of hours free. Also i wanna check out Sophies World too, but i wont pay R$50 for a book that only costs $7 anywhere else in the world. Talk about a license to print money! Maybe its time to use Kazaa to get a copy from their network free, after all most books are scanned and uploaded there hehehe! Just have to slip into admin mode here so i can run exe files. It'll just take a few minutes to get it installed ;-) I wonder if i can get one of the schools to print it all out for me free? hahaha! Just a few hundred pages, nothing for them top worry about.

I got Bend It Like Beckham from the video store this afternoon. I dont know if its a good film or not but i read some of the book and that was realls good so i have high hopes for the film too. Hopefully beckham wont star in it as i cant stand the little faggot! I'll let here what the film is like okay?

Right the schools closing soon so id better end and finish my coffee and then off to ring Roberta..

Flu..

Well with xmas out of the way now i find myself with a cold or the flu. Great, just the sort of thing i want in my vacation, luckily though i dont have to give class so i can spend a couple of days sweating it out of my system. Since moving to a tropical climate i have had a cold just a couple of times in 4yrs so i guess i cant complain :-)

Xmas we spent together at Robertas farm and grandmothers, i have more pairs of socks than i know what to do with now hehehe! New years day we are going to spend first at Robertas place and then the rest of the night at a friends house to see in the new year. We like to go to parties and stuff but here in Planaltina you have to have a death wish to want to go to parties here. Parties just tend to be places for the poor people to wait outside so they can rob people, we never go to parties here just at friends houses where we know most people who will be there. It should be a good laugh though, hopefully i will have shaken off my cold by new years night.

I got an email from Msn today talking about the msn spaces and that they had a few bugs and their system was up and running so i went there to check it out. Finally i can get into the site without that annoying error message, its not too bad. I didnt really play around alot as i have to go downtown but it has some interesting things in it, built in photo thingy that doesnt need a separate program downloaded and installed and some nice drag and drop stuff to move things around on the site etc. I dont think i'll use it really but its looking okay even though its a beta version at the moment. Annoying thing is that i cant stop the pages loading in portugues, ive tried altering things in the computer but still the homepage loads in portugues and other pages once i am in the site too. I'll have to ask a couple of my friends how i can get around this.

Okay time to go downtown..
