Trying and trying..

Im trying to create a site but i want one that doesnt have any ads on it. Why? Because i created some pages online that have java built into them and the java from the ads screws up the pages so the formatting and stuff doesnt work. The pages are some stuff that i wanna use with my students so i really want them to work properly. I have found one place called Freewebtown that have no ads but it also doesnt have ftp which means only using the browser. Also they have a strange way of creating pages etc that really is annoying but i just upload there for now and later on i will hopefully find somwhere better..

I visited a place called the hong kong virtual language center the other day that was quite interestiing. They have simple stuff there but works really well as its easy for teachers etc to setup and use their stuff. I knocked up some stuff to try out with some of my groups the other day and uploaded it to see how it would look and it seems fine. Hopefully the virtual center will let me have some webspace there so i dont have to mess around all of the time with freewebtown.

Harry potter fever is hitting here big time, strange though for a religious country to go so crazy about wizards and witchcraft aint it? Reeks of hypocrisy if you ask me hahaha!! I might go to see it though as its all british and needs to have the support of as many british people as possible ;-)

Okay time to go to the bakers here, im fucking starving lol

Passing time..

Its a little boring here this morning so im online again, good thing that they have free net here as i spend alot of my day on here sometimes hahaha!!

This morning i have been creating some online stuff for my students to do, just basic stuff really but they can get into the lab and play on it when they get time. Reading lessons and other stuff too, i found a couple of sites that will create the pages just from info i type in which saves me a lot of time :-) Im hoping to get a set of these excercises for each of my groups so i can use them each semester.

Oh well, better get back to it..

Sex Pistols..

Just been abusing Kazaa again. When i was a teenager i loved the Sex Pistols. Here in Brasil not many people know about one of the founders of the Punk movement as every time i mention them hardly anyone seems to know who they were. Plus Punk here is what people tend to think of Avril Lavigne as although shes very different from the original Punk groups of the 70's. Songs like Bodies, god save the queen & Friggin in the rigging were all the rage when i was young (a long time ago hahaha!!) So here are the lyrics for one of their songs..

Problems..

I wonder if Tripod are having problems as i cant get anything to ftp to the sites i have with them? Earlier on it was working just fine but now it says authentication error every time i try to do something. They best get it sorted out soon as i have a load of files to send up to my other sites..

Well the weekend here i spent at Robertas farm. This weekend was some festival here of the holy spirit, really just w weak excuse to get drunk with the churches consent so you can imagine what it was like right? I dont get why the church here encourages this as they know many people will get beaten, killed, robbed, raped etc but they still hold this every year :-( They even had this sort of log burning ceremony too, i am pretty sure that this comes from a pagan ritual in the UK though, strange how its included in a catholic religious ceremony. We didnt attend, just had a very quick walk through and then locked ourselves in the house before the killings etc started. Think im exageratting? We are talking about the second most violent city in district federal here. Not a thing for Planaltina to be proud of is it?

The day at the farm was great, Roberta lives miles from anywhere so you can imagine the total peace and quiet i had all day sunday right? It was bliss :-) Its a great place to just walk arm in arm and relax, this one day spent there with Roberta every week is wonderful for relieving stress :-) Also i loaded up with oranges at the farm too, i have a big bag of them every week more or less and just imagine how much good all that vitamin c is going to do for me ;-) I wonder if its good as an aphrodisiac? Have to check that out hahaha!!!

I'd better go do something here, i have some stuff i wanna finish preparing online to send to my other sites :-)
