U.S. Campaign Provides Fertile Ground for Comics

With the U.S. presidential election approaching, late night television comics are poking fun at the candidates. Here are some of the lines broadcast on Thursday:

NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno":

"One surprise, on John Kerry's tax return, under primary income he listed 'I married it'...

"President Bush earned $400,000 for his job as president last year. That's not really that much, but see President Bush, he doesn't do it for the money, he does it for the eight months of vacation every year...

"You know the difference between President Bush and American Idol? See, on American Idol the one with the most votes wins.

"In his press conference the other night, President Bush said freedom is a gift from the Almighty, and we have been called by God to use our military power to spread freedom throughout the world. Then he called that Sadr guy in Iraq a religious nutcase."

Casa Thomas who??

They are supposed to be one of the best english schools around plano piloto but i think that some of the teachers there need to have a lot more training especially when answering the telephone. I called there the other day and one bright spark had the following conversation with me..

Me.. Hi is my ex wife there?

Thomas teacher.. Yes she is

(Silence)

Me.. Hey are you there?

Thomas teacher.. Yes, why?

Me.. Is my ex wife there?

Thomas teacher.. Do you want to talk to her?

DUHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

What sort of people they have there i do not know but why would someone think i called there just to ask about my ex wife? Yeah i`ll really be interested in meeting this brainiac hahaha!!! Theres one born every minute, or so they say right? lol

Anyway enough of that, im here resting after slogging back and forwards between the cities and now waiting to give class again. Theres no one here so i have the lab all to myself so later on i`ll prepare my stuff for conversation classes. I got some great stuff the other day and have some more that i have to convert so i can print out later on at the other school. Im hoping that there will be loads of interesting feedback from the stuff i got online, plus its alot different from the stuff i was trying out last time so it`ll be fun to see which they like more..

Oh let me just text Roberta as i was at her place earlier but she hadnt arrived from the farm..

The Claro website is a little slow this afternoon but its okay as i have hours until my next class so i can wait :-)

I have to search around for new design for this site too. I have a couple that i like now but i have the hassle of setting everything up on the new templates to see how it`ll all look before i finally settle on one

Oh they have made coffee.. i`ll go drink some and maybe get back to blogging later on :-)

Waiting.. waiting lol

Im struggling to get online at the moment as its exam time here now. I must get around to finding out why the computers in Planaltina arent working yet so that i can use the computers and internet there lol. Still i have a couple of minutes here so a quick post..

Im downloading adobe acrobat reader here at the moment as i wanna print off some really nice stuff i got from offline last week for my MEC3 conversation classes. Some of it is really good too where i dont have to reallydo any talking and just the students lol. Itll be nice, really nice to just sit on my arse lol

Okay students here.. time to go
