Having a bad day here lol

I have no access to the internet at home as the monitor has given up the ghost and on top of that... the modem at the school burned out too so i had to travel all the way to the other school just to check my email this morning but i had to come here anyways lol. They said three weeks for the school modem and god knows how long before we get the monitor fixed at home so posts will be a little few and far between okay? Hopefully they will fix the home monitor quickly but it will depend i guess on what they say is wrong and how much its going to cost. This is Brasil and everything is expensive here and the moment they realise im english the price usually jumps up because all foreigners are rich lol

Visited a place here the other day called Gates Pub... Can you believe we had to pay R$20 just to get out of the place? :-( Enough said on that subject i think

Im still getting text messages even today wishing me a happy week from my students as its teachers day this week.. or it was lol. Nice to know they all think enough of me to send the messages and i like these teenager groups alot as they always like to do something different :-)

Yesterday for something different we showed some comedy stuff in the lessons. They have clips etc to pass in the classes in the schools but only at certain times but the ones we bring from home etc we can pass whenever i guess so they got to see some stuff from The Comedy Zone which they really liked.. The one with Jim Carey is just so funny lol. There were other clips too but that one had to be their favorite one out of all of them. There was just one group that didnt react very well, a boring GS2 group that hardly ever smile etc.. we have tried many things with them but they just must be a naturally quiet (Boring lol) group. I hope that i dont get this group as they will be very tiring to teach i think.

Im trying to decide what to do this afternoon, i guess i could go to the movies as there were a few new films playing here at the weekend. Ill check the website later on and see whats available i think. If not i can always just go shopping for pirate cds etc, if the computer was working i could have played Tombraider or something ;-) Ill think of something though, i can always ring students and get a dvd to watch over at the other CCAA school as i have quite a few students who like to get together and watch dvds, get popcorn and other goodies etc and just relax lol. Its good fun and they like to do this activity alot so they can practice listening in english.

I got some nice websites the other day to check out with activities that i can do in my MEC groups, i hope that i get time to try out some of them as i think quite a few of them will be good for a laugh :-) Ive got to get around to playing with roleplay too, i can never get time to experiment with it in class though although the conversation classes its going to be a must. I think the next set of conversation classes i will give ill do some roleplay with some subjects that i know teenagers love to talk about.. boy/girl friends, parties and stuff like that lol. I think will be a little crazy but alot of fun too :-) We will see what happens i guess right?..

Okay i had better check out those sites for class and then find something to do this afternoon.. I think its going to be the cinema though.. wonder if i can find anyone to go with lol.. Bye for now.. :-)
