Wisdom outweighs any wealth

I havent had time to get on here the last few days, i have been very busy but would like to say Hi and thanks to Roz for signing my tag-board for me :-). I have been out of the house alot because of Easter hols here so the last two days i have been to friends houses as i dont get time to do anything when i work so the hols i try to get out and do something as much as i can. Hopefully i will go to a concert tonite, funny really im 36 and never been to a concert before lol. I have always had something to do or work left me no time but if i can find out how to get there and back then maybe i will go. We will see right? :-)

As you can see another pic has appeared, i love watching Dragonball Z so thats why all the pics tend to come from this cartoon series :-). My sons back in england used to love watching it too and on a saturday i got three hours of peace while they watched the weeks reruns lol. I like the manga stuff too but dont really see alot of it here, i dont find alot of stuff here in english. I really have to try to find time to learn more portugues especially before i start to work for the other school next month

Hmmm im going to get offline for a bit and try ringing around to see how i can get to this concert now or i will be trying to sort it out at the last minute. See yall later on lol

I just finished correcting a HUGE pile of exams and had to fill my coffee cup twice lol, but its all done now and now i can rest and relax until the next lot arrives :-). So A big congratulations to my students who have taken the exams... if only they reaslised how much coffee it takes to correct the tests ;-)

I will have to make sure i correct the typing mistakes on the site from using the computers at work as the keyboards are very different from the one i use at home. They seem to be a really old style of brasilian keyboard and everything is in the wrong place and back slashes dont seem to be where they are supposed to be too lol. Its crazy trying to find where everything is. Oh and some of the students seem to like visiting the playboy site too although i always thought it was a little boring myself :-). The connection though is very good as its Asdl so if there is just one pc connected to the internet is lightening quick :-) My hotmail doesnt always work though and one computer refuses to work with hotmail at all and wont load the page... must be the babysitter software for that pc thats stopping it working i think

Right its time for me to go and get something for my dinner as im starving :-). Smells like casava which i love and beef too with flavored rice. I can feel a few more kilos appearing just thinking af eating it all :-)

wow i have been so busy the last few days but today i have finally managed to get all of my papers here soted out and have my brasilian identity card and also my Cpf number and on top of that this morning i got my carteira de trabalho as well and all of this with just my fifty or so words of portugues so i didnt do too badly :-) Now i have a cpf number it means i can buy things or have a credit card if i like as well as sign up for things like students cards and teachers book stores as i get a discount :-)

I am at work early today as i hadnt got time to go home and then arrive back here again so i have yet to go and get something to eat but will probably go to the coffee shop and get something from there before i start to teach class later this afternoon. My group will also find out how they did in their midterm exam and they all passed but of course i will have to wind them up just a little for fun. The bad thing is that i have to correct all these bloody exams lol, still i dont mind as it gives me something to do when im not at work. Shows just how sad a life i must have right!!!

Its very muggy here today, i cant wait for it to rain a little and cool the air down. later on if i get time i might pick up a movie but i have some exams to mark first or maybe there will actually be something interesting on the tv here.... just joking!!!!!!!!! Still when i move i will be nearer to civilisation as where i live now is so far from eveything and people here just go to the church and nothing else. In the other city there is life and things to do and only thirty minutes away from a cinema as well :-). You really cannot imagine how bad planaltina is until you have seen it and lived in it for a year or so :-(

I keep meaning to change the links thing but havent had time, i cant wait until the end of the semester so that i can have some free time but i will have to do standby time here at work. I will have plenty of time to watch videos and stuff :-) Anyway time to go and get something done i guess as class starts soon

Only a short post today as i am dog tired from the midterm exams and im going to relax and watch X-men in a few minutes on the tv. Its a shame that it will be in portugues but its better than watching the terrible soap operas they have here... believe me they are really really bad lol

A good note today though is that my id card is ready from the policia federal here so i can go and pick it up tomorrow from their offices :-). I will be able to have my own bank account now which will be nice and also stuff like credit cards etc too but more importantly i will have an identity here in Brasil :-) I will spend the day downtown tomorrow as i only have to teach in the evenings and get everything all sorted out i hope :-)

Anyway off to watch the film before i miss the beginning of it :-)

One's first step in wisdom is to question everything - and one's last is to come to terms with everything.

Its thundering here at the moment so im hoping that we wont get a powercut before i finish typing here. Yesterday i was at a bbq and didnt get back here until 3am lol, and yes i was sober :-). Was good fun and i think this will be a regular thing on a sat night which is good for me as i tend to spend all week working and only really have sat nights to hang out and do things :-). Things look good on the job front too with the new classes starting in may and there looks as though there will be quite a bit of money in this new job too :-). It will pay for my new computer lol

This afternoon i went to the fair here to get hold of some english music cds as its not easy here to get any sort of english stuff due to protectionism of brasilian music. I found a couple of young lads selling pirated cds and they had quite a few, i mentioned Red Hot Chillie Peppers and they produced loads of cds along with most modern rock bands and metal too :-). Shall we slap a cd in the player????

I have a load of stuff to correct too but i will do it later on if i feel like it lol. I might save it for exam day tomorrow as they start the midterm exams in the morning. Then i will have a week of getting them all corrected, will be exciting wont it? lol. I am curious to see how the students will do especially in the groups that have been saying they understand nothing, but of course they will be the ones that ask me to help them with the oral book to which i will say - But how can i help you if you dont understand me?? and i wonder what they will say? :-) Sometimes work gets so crazy that even i get amazed sometimes how zany it gets even when i think it cant get any worse lol

Okay time to get something to eat as im starving here, my tummy is rumbling lol
