Joke..

f you can start the day without caffeine or pep
pills,
If you can be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people
with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful
for it,
If you can understand when loved ones are too busy
to give you time,
If you can overlook when people take things out
on you when, through no fault of yours, something
goes wrong,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

Then you are probably a cat or a dog.

Rain..

Finally we got a decent rainshower this morning, it should cool things down a little now. In the local paper this morning there is a warning about people living in areas that get affected by all the rain water once the rainy season starts. Areas near to me like Aropoanga where people basically build a house out of whater they can find, wood, paper etc get washed away. It happens every year in many parts of Brasil but not really alot gets done here to try to prevent this from happening. You get people like Gov. Roriz giving people land to vote for him but what he doesnt tell them is that with no good drainage infrastructure laid in the ground they are going to get flooded out or their houses washed away or full of dirty water that will bring all types of medical problems. I'm sure the news will soon be full of death and destruction.

I noticed here they are still advertizing voting in Brasil, strange as they finished voting here a long time ago as far as i can tell. Maybe they cant sell advertising space omn the channels and just shove this on to fill up the gaps lol. Voting here is mandatory, i was told they call it Voting with conscience. If you dont vote then there are things you cant get anymore. Hmm strange type of democracy but im sure there is a good reason for it. Probably to clear out all of the false ids in the system here. On the Tv last night they were talking about rich people here who are claiming money that is put aside for poor people in Brasil. They have a benifit here that poor people can get to help them out and the reporters were showing people in beautiful big houses and these people were claiming money that wasnt theirs. How are the poor people supposed to have this money when its being sucked up by rich families who are embezeling the welfare system. They need to bring out strict punishments for these types of people, flogging springs to mind. After all they are ripping of money from the government that we pay in our taxes to help poor people get a better life, they deserve no sympathy whatsoever.

As you can see some punishments are just pefect for dealing with severe crimes, lets introduce this type of punishment and see the crime rates falling. In some countries they have commercials showing people what will happen if they break the law showing floggings etc. Lets face it the do-gooders with their lets feel sorry for the criminals attitudes are just encouraging people to break the laws. After all whos going to worry about stealing or raping people when you just get a slap on the wrist and a cushy jail with tv and good food laid on? Chop off a few hands or whip a few people publicly and lets show criminals that there are real punishments for their crimes and not some namby pamby bullshit.

Hot..

Its blistering here at the moment, must be high 30`s i guess. If i get to the other school early enough i am just going to sit in the shower with it on cold ntil i stop melting lol. Two cans of Pepsi Twist and i am still thirsty, im going to be pissing all night long at this rate :-)

I spent Sunday at the farm again, as usual we spent the afternoon asleep on the veranda lol. It was the coolest place to be with the cool tiles and a bit of breeze blowing. I could do with being there today but i have to give class now so its not possible. In fact my student should be herewithin a few minutes or so. I think im going to try to finish just a little early though so i can get to the other school faster and eat before my next classes start at 8pm.

I got some interesting stuff back from my students with their agony aunt letters. They did some really nice stuff :-) I have to think of something else they can do now, not really big compositions but just to let them get some practice while i finally get this little magazine idea up and running. I`ll show them the basic idea i came up with on Wednesday.

Okay im outta here, time for class..
