I am one of those who never knows the direction of my journey until i have almost arrived
- Anna Louis Strong 1935

Im here wasting time at the moment as i have nothing to do lol. I was trying to get my students motivated to visit the movies or something to get more contact with english but they were too busy so ill try at the other school and see tomorrow what they have planed for the weekend. I have been trying to get activities going at the schools the last few weeks and its taking up a little more time than i realized but its okay as soon i hope they will start to create their own activities. Tomorrow afternoon i have an afternoon with my students after class at a resteraunt just to spend time talking in english and next weekend i have bbq's etc to get organised.. well thats if the owner of the school have given us permission to have one. I was supposed to find out today but i havent heard anything about it, i will probably find out in the morning when i go over to Sobradinho

I actually fell asleep here at the school this afternoon lol, it was so warm and i just nodded off ;-) Still i feel better now.. what do we call this ? is it Power Napping? lol I was awake early this morning as i had to do some summaries and compositions for the school on books they are going to use in the literacy tests and wanted to get them all finished for this afternoon so i could hand them in. At the moment i am working on two books, Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert and Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. Did i like them both?... Yeah i thought they were better than i expected them to be. I think i like Madame Bovary a little more than the other though as its a more interesting story. Hopefully my MEC students will like these books too, i like quite a few classic authors but some of them are so boring or the english language they use makes it so hard for people to understand them. Arthur Conan Doyle is one of my fav authors but i also like George Orwell too and H.G. Wells. Jane Austin i tried out but i get a little bored with her books as they are all basically the same story with just a couple of things changed. I have a couple more books to do yet that ill try to get from the school next weekas i want to be ahead with all these compositions and questions etc before the midterm exams arrive here in December.

Wait a min... I need caffeine lol

wow its so humid here today, i hope that we have a little rain just to cool it down a bit as the last couple of days here in Brasil have been so hot. Good for my tan yes i guess lol. I was talking with one of my students the other day about how dark my skin is now after living here for a couple of years. It'll be better once my portugues has improved more though, i try to find time every day now to practice just a little even if its just talking with the teachers or with the beginner students in Sobradinho at the weekend :-)

Im still waiting for my brother to send me my copy of linux too as i hopefully will order my new computer as soon as i get it and see what sot of requirements it is going to need. I want to have a dual boot system so that i can use windows but also try to learn a little about linux too. Of course linux is a geek program really and not for the home market but it would be nice just to try it out and see what things are built into it. I tried it years ago before but i didnt like it much but i think now it must have improved quite alot after looking at some of the websites online. Oh i have to hope that SCC dont put linux out of business too with their battle with IBM too lol

Did you guys like my picture? lol Are you wondering who My spice girls are? lol They are three young ladies from one of my advanced groups who really like Orlando Bloom so hence the picture of him here for those guys lol. I would have uploaded it the other day but someone in the school keeps deleteing my Wbloggar program and i had to make a few alterations to windows to make sure they could delete it anymore ;-) Windows says the program is gone but of course its not as its a pain in the arse for me to have to keep installing it every couple of days so i altered a few things in the windows registry lol. nice and saves me alot of time keep messing around lol

I must try to find some stuff for my classes now as over the weekend i will have very little time with the extra activities ive got planned so ill stop here and go browse the web... Catch ya later :-)

War is not just victory or loss... People die..

Well i was supposed to be researching some stuff for one of my classes but i have to admit i cant find anything about it online and ive been trying for around thirty minutes lol. Funny i though i would easily find stuff about Afro-american english online but not up until now lol.. I'll try again later on and see if i can find anything interesting to use.

Earlier on i found some funny news reports that i printed for my class later in the week. The stories were made up but the thing was just to show to the students how people use english words and expessions to make humor etc.. I will copy them both later as i will need quite a few copies of it for my groups. More expense lol

I also have to wait to see if we are going to be allowed to have our bbq, i spoke to the boss yesterday about it and will know only on friday if we get the go ahead or not. I have been trying to think of other things that we can do with students too but some things they only like at one school and different things at the other one so its a bit of a pain in the arse :-) Going to the cinema though seemed a good idea and a few people said they liked this one. Nice as i love to go to the cinema :-) We will see how i get along with this i guess.

Hmmmm the clock on the computer isnt working again... or have they just change the time? lol. ill sort it out later on as i want to nip to the bakers to get something cold to drink before my lessons start this afternoon :-) Coca cola again i think ;-)

Okay im outta here for now... bye :-)
