Stranger and stranger..

In late 2003, a strange email spread from inbox to inbox concerning a purported English University study - or rather, "Elingsh uinervtisy" study. The alleged study found that one should be able to read a paragraph of text as long as the first and last letters of each word are in the right place. The remaining letters in each word can be mixed up.

This would appear to be a hoax, as most spammed "news" is, but if your vocabulary is good enough you should be able to read the scrambled text with few problems

So can you gyus read and utendrasnd waht tihs all says or are you as lost and in the drak as evorenye else appraes to be? hhhaaa!! The itneernt gets wederir and wideerr!!

No uploads..

For some reason i cant get blogger to upload pics, it works okay with Wbloggar so must be a bug in the site. I'll try again later on if i get time.

Next week everyone in the school is planning to go to the cinema and water Spiderman 2, we have a copy of it already here at the school though and it looks pretty good from the bits i have seen so far :-) We will still go to the cinema though as the experience of seeing on the BIG screen is always the best no matter how cheap it is to get a pirate copy. There are quite a few films out this summer that i wanna see and now we are equipt with our student cards its be nice to get to see all of those half-price films ;-)

I wonder if we have counterstrike laying around here so i can install it and get some practice in while i wait for 5pm to arrive? hahaha!!

Oh next week the internet will def be back at my school, they are changing to another company with faster speeds and cheaper costs, the secretary got a little confused apparently and didnt understand what they had told her. Good thing as i have about ten pages to upload for my students next semester to use in MEC4. Plus i have all of my programs installed on the computers there and files too. It would be prety much impossible now to tryto give classes without my number one research tool lol

Okay going to see what games we have to install here ;-)

Im bored!!

Its bloody boring here in the school this morning, i hve no students at all today so its going to be just playing around on the internet i guess. Apparently they are going to turn the net back on at the other school now, i wish they would try telling people whats going on there instead of just doing things without telling people. Must be a brasilian thing hahaha!!!

Well tonite is party night for me and Roberta, some live groups singing with forro dancing and stuff, sounds like it could be fun as none of the donkey people tend to go to these types of things in Planaltina :-) I wonder what Roberta will think of my terrible forro dance technique? hahaha!!! It'll be nice though and a laugh too, i'll have to see if we can scrounge a camera for photos for my folks back home..

I started on a book called The Da Vinci Code yesterday to pass the time and its turning out to be really good. So if you guys get time you should pick up a copy of it and try it out. Oh expect to pay shitloads of money for it as its in english and Brasil charges a fucking fortune for anything from another country. The authors name is Robert Langdon..

Right, now to download some games to play online for the rest of the day ;-)

Well, i need coffee now!!!!!

Im in need of alot of coffee right this minute hahaha!! I have ran out of coffee, sugar too so i have to survive on pepsi until i go to the bank later on this evening. I'll grab some after getting back from the other school later, hopefully they will have a couple of groups for me that will pay for my vacation later this year with Roberta :-) It'll be interesting to see if my slightly wacky style works well in another school where i will have more control over the content of my classes :-)

The rumor of the net being killed at my school looks more or less correct, i cant belive they cancelled it just because they wanted to cut down on expenses :-( Of course they now have the problem of getting the new students to come when we have less to offer than the other schools in the area but hey, its not my problem right? lol

Okay need to get some other stuff typed now before my hour runs out ;-)

Internet screwed!!

I was told today that the owner of the school has cancelled the internet connection as he says its too expensive and that just the secretaries have a dial-up network that they canonly use with express permission, can you believe this shite? It will be harder and harder to get students to come to the school if the other ones offer more and more of the things that we no longer have. I cant see what the logic is in this idea, probably to save money for their vacation to the coast or something.. Good job there is a lanhouse near to me that has dit-cheap dsl access :-) I can see more of the students coming here as the new semester starts..

I picked up a new VIP student this week, should be interesting. apparently she only wants class one daya week for a couple of hous but she will pay for mine and Robertas vacation at the end of the year ;-)

The start of the standby house is this week for me, basically just me sitting around and watching videos and stuff for a month and getting paid fo it hahaha!!! I have some stuff that i wanna prepare for my groups next semester too, i wanted really to get some stuff online for my students but with no internet its no longer possible. CCAA Goias though have the net and i have hopes of teaching there next semester so i can use with my groups there if they have any for me at the start of the semester :-)

No emails from my folks back in the UK. Must be a sign that my dad is feeling better now or they would have emailed or rang me :-)Whats that saying again? No news is good news

Okay have to go get some emails done while i have time left here :-)

Just passing time..

Man the evening is dragging here, i ended up going to the lanhouse for the first time in ages just to waste some time lol. I have some stuff to prepare later on though for my groups next semester, activities and such that will keep me busy for a couple of hours.. oh and a load of ironing too hahaha!!

It was my last day of teaching my OM3 group in Tag and it was a little sad with one of my students saying how much she would miss me, i like this group alot and i hope that i get to teach there next semester too, just so i get to keep in touch with all the students. But i never know if i will teach at the same school each semester as i seem to be sort of covering for teaching places that dont have enough teachers, its nice though as i get to meet loads of new people students, teachers etc. Plus alot of them have my email too so they can get in touch etc :-)

Man my two hours are already nearly up here, i was messing online trying to get some emails all finished as the net at the school is down, yet again. Telebrasilia must have problems with their dsl line or something as the phone system works just fine. Hopefully it'll all be working tomorrow as i have some more pages to upload to my other site and a few links to add to my teachers blog too..

Okay gotta get my arse moving here.. Nite nite!!!
