I found i had some email from my brother complete with new pics of my parents garden too :-). I shoved one on here for you guys so you can see how much my mum and dad love their garden and to see beautiful plants and flowers. There is only a few of the flowers vlooming here at the moment but later in the year i will try to get a few more pics as then there is color everywhere and it looks really amazing :-).

One problem with having a slowish computer such as the one i use to update my pages is that is you try to use big programs such a my ftp program the pc slows right down as the memory gets all consumed. Because of this i searched online for a small program that would do the same job as my mem eater and came up with something called Ftp Navigator which is quite small and works really well. You can get it from the following address.. well it was working that last time i checked okay?..... Ftp Navigator.

Its quite fast and takes just a few seconds to configure it all with the settings for the servers etc and also lists loads of other download servers too from all the popular places.

Remember i am supposed to be doing something?.... well the idea went out of the window lol. Ill do it later or just correct the things when the students do Lcp later on this afternoon. Hmmmm something here smells delicious, i think lunch is going to be really nice today. I have no idea what it is yet though, i only go into the kitchen to get coffee usually or cookies. Its so wierd trying to remember to use american english lol. In the UK we would call a cookie a biscuit but here a biscuit is a salted cracker... confused?.. good cause so am i lol

**In the player - Eurythmics - When tomorrow comes**

One of Englands better musical groups, alot of english music now tends to be that electronic crap where they sample other peoples stuff and write nothing themselves. explains why i like metal music i guess as i love to hear the instruments being played... Plus all of the worlds best guitarists are all in heavy metal groups :-). It has to be said though that brasilian rap is probably the worst music i have ever heard lol, Oh my god its terrible and the one good thing is that no one any where else in the world will ever listen to it. Can you imagine the suffering that would be inflicted? ;-). Of course i grew up listening to this group, they wrote so many great songs and as a solo singer Annie Lennox is unreal, classically trained she has a huge range of vocal skills. Even now they are hugely popular in england, they even got to do the soundtrack to the film 1984 from Orwells book of the same name. Have you seen it? i loved this film with John Hurt.

Just noticed here that the grey hairs are showing through again.. oh and that i need to have a haircut too. Maybe ill leave the grey though as it might make me look more distinguished.. Yeah right lol!!!!!. I keep putting off going to the hairdressers here as they have this bloody obsession with trying to make me look like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever all the time. I could have a blue rinse or something just to add a bit of color, what do you think? ;-) My younger brother likes to change his hair color all the time, blue red green etc. for me though hmmm i will have to think on it a little... Let you know what i decide okay? :-)

Okay i really had better go and get something done.... oh great my cell phone just switched off saying it needs charging. Oh my god what a disaster, how will i manage with my cell out of action? ;-) Hmmm Just as the day was looking full of wonder and suprise too :-)

My families garden in England

A pic of my familes garden in the UK.. my parents love gardening and stuff. Hmmm it never really rubbed off on me though. I guess i dont have green fingers lol.

you really didnt expect a quote at this time of the morning did you? lol

Okay well i am awake, ill be more awake in a few minutes when the coffee starts to work lol. Its a little cool here at the moment, for me its still hot although there are people walking around outside with jumpers and coats on. Even after living here for 2yrs i still havent got used to the temp and it always feels warm to me even when other people complain about the cold. The temp here when they say it is cold is around 12C which for someone from the Uk is very warm lol. Its going to turn out to be a great day though i think, the sun is already up and shining and burning off the bit of mist that i can see.

Watching the film was fun lat nite, there were alot more people than i expected to see matrix 2 :-). Wow i ate too much popcorn, i will have to walk to work to make sure i dont put a load of weight on today i guess lol. It ends a little strangely but we only have to wait until december to find out what happens so its not too long, although i am guessing that the good guys will win, they always do in these types of films right? ;-)

Apparently one of my previous students was telling me that last night she tried to get one of her teachers to come to the film so that i could meet her, she said this teacher was red haired and very cute :-). Cant you just smell something in the air?... What is it???......... Ah yes its called match-making lol. I wonder if this is a typical thing for brasilian people? We will have to see how it plays out i guess although really i get alot of peoples phone numbers etc and just put them in the bin lol. I have a party coming up soon too that i think is another match making idea but will i go???... hmmmm i dont know yet. Ill pay for it of course as the money goes to brasilian charities but will i go to meet the young lady i know is going to be there? - well you will have to wait and see lol. Of course i already know her a little and she seems really nice and the good thing is she can speak english too yeah!!!!!!!!!!. Whats the name of this young lady do i hear you guys asking?....... well that would be telling wouldnt it? lol

I wonder if my new music cds will arrive here from england today? i have been waiting since the start of last week for them to get here. There are a couple of films too that i got my brother to send me that i can use in classes, they are english ones without the portugues subtitles so are good for conversation classes etc. Plus they give me something else to watch apart from lengendado films from the video stores as they tend to have just old releases and hardly any new ones in english. Also i hope there will be some programs for me too as linix here in english is very hard to get a hold of. I will have to see what is in the envelope when it gets here right? :-)

Okay time to end and go get something to eat and prepare for classes this afternoon too. Maybe ill go to the lanhouse later on too if i get time for an hour or so just to pass the time :-).... Im outta here!!!!!!!!

"I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability."
-Oscar Wilde

Im finally getting close to finishing those lit book and have 90% of the questions all done now and just have to make a few questions for just one book and I think that will be it… Yeah!!!!!! I spent most of yesterday and today at the school using their computers to get everything done and hopefully it will be good enough for the bosses. We have a boss at one school who creates the wonderful ideas but we never see she to discuss them with her, sounds more like avoiding people doesn’t it? Lol. Still so long as they pay us that’s all that really matters isn’t it? Lol

Later this evening, well in about 30 mins ill be eating popcorn and watching matrix 2 again with some of the students from work. Nice as I have nothing else to do and I soon get very bored here in Brasil as this city is very limited when I look for exciting things to do lol. Well there is always the church but im not catholic so that’s not really any good and if I really wanted to pray I would do it myself not pay some greedy priest to do it for me lol. I am going to have some stuff from my brother too in English so I can use that with my students as well, especially the music cds as they are so hard to get here. Decent English music is like gold dust here even from the pirateers.

Well just a quick visit tonite as I have to go and get ready to go and I still haven't eaten yet since lunch time. I tried to change a R$50 note earlier and no one would change it for me so I ended up coming home and eating instead. Typical of this city though as it’s a poor area so they usually don’t carry a lot of money in case they get robbed etc.

"Everything Hitler did to the Jews, all the horribly unspeakable misdeeds, had already been done to the smitten people before by the Christian churches. . . . The isolation of Jews into ghetto camps, the wearing of the yellow spot, the burning of Jewish books, and finally the burning of the people - Hitler learned it all from the church. However, the church burned Jewish women and children alive, while Hitler granted them a quicker death, choking them first with gas."

hmmm well I cant see why the color had disappeared from my page but it seems to be back again now but I still cant get the Latin American accents to work on words etc. Maybe I had to post again and then the color would have been there. I will try it later on when I post this and see what happens. As you can see my knowledge of html isn’t all that good and at this time of the day after 2hrs of counterstrike its worse than usual lol.

Yeah 2hrs of net-gaming and was good fun, I like the connections place more as its a lot more controlled than the other one that’s always full of screaming kids where as this one they go for the joy of gaming. Its right up my street, do you use this expression? Lol. Ill have to remember that one for my students I think as they love expressions. They learned Get The Fuck Outta Here the other day in conversation class and said it was the best expression so far lol. Of course though they are all old enough to learn these expressions but they can easily get them from American films instead of my telling them right? Lol In the Uk I had my own LAN in the house but here its too expensive to have one so its easier to go to the LAN houses to play although they need to get some newer games to play as half life counterstrike is very old now. I Liked playing Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 in the Uk with my children, maybe my brother will ship me over some new games and stuff. I will have to get onto him about it and see what he says.

I have to remember to go and get my id card photocopied today and take my stuff to work to get my carteira de trabalho stamped so I qualify for fgts payments. There is so much paperwork here in Brasil. I think it must be a throwback from when the military were in power here as militaries love mountains of paperwork lol. It shouldn’t take too long to get it sorted out and I think that I have nearly got everything all sorted out. I just have to get a credit card and then I will be set I think. The nice thing here is that you don’t need to earn huge amounts of money to get a credit card as Brasil has a lot of low wage people and so the banks have a lot lower earning tables than say in England. Takes the piss a bit really as in England I couldn’t get a credit card and I earned around 1200 a month but here wont be a problem lol.

I suppose I had better really make a start on that god damned book or I will never get any of it done. Why they had to pick English lit I will never understand… Such is life right??

"An atheist doesn't have to be someone who thinks he has a proof that there can't be a god. He only has to be someone who believes that the evidence on the God question is at a similar level to the evidence on the werewolf question."

Im supposed to be here creating questions and stuff for the austin book Emma but i just cant seem to get motivated at the moment lol. Oh god this book is so bloody boring that just looking at it puts me to sleep. Why didnt they choose something a bit more modern?. I have all the questions in the book to answer as well and then save to diskette and give to the boss apparently by the end of the month, i have two books to do plus all the other crap they shove on me so not much chance of me finishing it all. Of course if they hint that they will pay me to do it then maybe i might manage it ;-)

I didnt realise that my students actually read this diary of mine, in fact a couple of them asked me about it yesterday lol. Are you still reading this Rosana? lol As for the quotes i got asked about, i usually just grab a load from somewhere and then use them until i run out and then change subject. The first quotes were all about War and this time is Religion and when i change...... who knows what they will be about lol. Hmmmm do i really get melancholy? (is that spelled correctly? lol) I guess i never notice with being the person who writes here in my little part of cyberspace.

Just looking here for some music to listen to while i try to start with the answering questions. Hmmmm U2.. no....... Haha Guns & Roses i think. Let me grab the cd from the other room okay? :-) Okay time to wake up the neighbours now

**Playing at full volume - Right next door to hell**

The neighbours wont mind as i think they are all at work and if they do ... well they can come and complain cant they and if they speak a good english and i understand i may think about lowering the volume just a little lol. After all Axl Rose didnt create his wonderful music to be played at the low volume level, thats just for new romantic music :-).

Hmmm i had better do something with the book, well actually i might get showered and go over to the lanhouse and play counterstrike instead and see if any one i know is there too. After all we have to have a life out side of CCAA right? lol. Its decided... the book goes back to the bookshelf.... im outta here guys lol

I just noticedd i have lost my background color from my site lol, i was adding support for latin american character sets and some some reason the back ground color is now white.. oh shit!!!!! lol. Something to sort out later on when i get back.....

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

Well i got to see Matrix 2 yesterday, its excellent and i will probably watch it again at work later this week as they have a pirated copy of it for the students who have no money or time to go into the city. The superman thing when he flies is quite funny lol. we have to wait till december now though to see the final part and see if agent smith kills neo, building up into a great ending.

I got an email from my brother this weekend saying he has posted me some cds and stuff, nice as i will have a few more english cds to listen to. Brasil is terrible for getting anything decent in english as they like to protect their very bad popular music sales. Trust me the music here isnt very good lol.

I have to take it easy today as yesterday i got a bit carried away with playing sega rally 2 in the arcade and managed to pull something in my foot lol. I have no idea what i did but it ached alot all last nite and at the cinema too but today is feeling okay so long as i dont try jumping around on it. It is a sure sign that i am starting to get very old i guess ;-)

Anyway ill stop as i have to get ready for work yet and finish off some stuff before i go and then try to catch the boss when i get there as i have some questions for her about this book my students are reading. If it isnt one thing its something else isnt it? :-)
