When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace. --Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970)

Well as you can see i have moved over to tripod and the pics work just fine now. I spent around twenty minutes messing around with it before realising that i was typing the wrong path to the pic and once i sorted that and published from blogger it was all systems go :-). My first pic is Goku as my sons love Dragonball Z and watch it in the uk all the time lol. A bit more complicated than blogspot because of having to use ftp but nice to have some color on the page with the text. One thing i have noticed though is that the archives have disappeared now and i cant get the blogger help section to load so i can see what they suggest i do about it either so i guess thats the first thing to fix tomorrow. Must need republishing or something. Hmmm now i have been dissconnected too so i guess it must be my turn to suffer from an attack of the gremlins lol. Oh help section has loaded now please give me a sec

**Quickly reading help section**

Okay give me another minute to try this advice it gave to me out, just grab a coffee or a pepsi or something okay and we shall see if it works.... Still here??? Wow thought you would have gone to bed by now lol anyway still trying to get it to work. The files appear on the site but still no archives are appearing on the page :-(

Okay finally the archives have appeared but i am not entirely sure how i did it apart from a very vague idea lol. Still the important thing is that they are there and people can now access them. And on an even better note something else happened that really made my day today...... Someone visited my weblog and was kind enough to leave a message :-). YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! WOOWOO!!!!!!!!!!. So a BIG hi to Josephine and anyone who wanders into my site please pay josephines site a visit too okay? :-) I managed to get three things sorted today

1. Moved the site to tripod without any major screw ups lol
2. Got pics posted which was easy lol
3. sorted out the crummy archives... But still dont really know how lol

I just have to get the email link sorted out now on the page so that people can get in touch with me if they like. Hmmmmm 11.40pm and my brain doesn´t remember the html code but no problem a quick jump to bloggers help section again should sort that out quickly right? lol. But guess who was wrong lol. In fact it took me quite a while cause the computer here is just a p166+ so it crashed and i had to then reboot and wait for it to get connected again because the line was busy. But nevermind my email link is now there :-). Okay now im off to sleep lol

The opposite of war is not peace, It's creation

I´m awake and yawning here lol, woke up twice this morning but just went back to sleep again. Got a funny email too from two of my students, a poster making fun of bush and saddam, thanks juliana & rosana :-). Typically though hotmail decided that it wasnt going to let me download it and tried to add people to the junk email folder, i wonder if hotmail has been hacked by Iraqi computer hackers lol
God i need something with caffeine in it, give me a sec here okay?........ Okay thats better and feeling more normal. Well thats if i can be classed as anywhere near normal at 11am on a saturday morning. And i have yet to go to work later on too, hmmmmmmm isnt life great when you know you have to have a whole afternoon at CCAA???? lol

**Noise from searching the cd racks**

What to listen to this morning? oh i see Phil Collins Live... i´m sure the neighbours will love listening to him and maybe they will enjoy a change from that cracker shit they usually listen too lol. Let me load the cd here and choose a track. Okay which one?? wow i am so spoiled for choice here ;-) Something happened on the way to heaven sounds good... okay volume nice and loud and click Play.

**Looks at the rottweiller boogieing to Phil in the garden**

Hmmmmm only two more hours to go and i´ll be at work i guess i had better get something done here or ill not get anything done

well its 22.20pm here and i have just finished setting up the commenting box on the weblog and it seems to be working :-) the one from Tagboard was the easiest one i could find and it only took a couple of minutes to set it up on the page. Hmmmmmm everyone is watching big brother in the living room but im not because i HATE it lol. Its as boring as the english one but they all love it here lol. also updated the links a little, i might have a look at that blogrolling thing if i can be bothered to lol. Anyway time for sleep as i have work tomorrow :-)

Experts say that Iraq may have nuclear weapons. That's bad news — they may have a nuclear bomb. Now the good news is that they have to drop it with a camel.
--David Letterman

I just found out that Tripod wont let me host pics there and link to them from my blogspot page lol. now i have the hassle of trying to find somewhere free online that i can put a pic once in a while to show on blogspot. I think Tripod are being very unfair not letting me use their bandwidth for another companies site dont you? lol. Never mind i´ll find somewhere sooner or later.
Another bad thing too is that i found out today that the phone companies here in brasil have decided to make the weekend internet rate the same as peak time in the week.... but they didnt think to tell the public.. SHAME ON YOU TELEBRASILIA!!!!!!!! Can you believe how greedy companies are getting now adays? There are so many poor people here and using the internet would give them access to so much information and also contact with people in other countries and now they are having this pulled from their hands. Also the bus fares here are going to rise again, thats four times since i arrived here in Brasil. Wow talk about making BIG profits. Who says theres no money in a third world country?? you just steal or rob it from all the poor people cause there isnt anyone to stop you and if you get caught its just a matter of making sure you grease the right palms.
Got my coffee now so im doing great :-). It smells like dinner is cooking too. I think its chicken tonite, Mmmmmmm i love chicken :-). Since being here in Brasil i have put on around 13 kilos in weight, i will have to find a gym i guess and try to get rid of this little tummy i have developed. Perhaps i should learn to swim, well swim more than a width of the pool lol. We shall see right?.
They are talking about the war on the news here now, you know some times i get a little pissed off with hearing about it. After all they could be showing dragonball z cartoons instead of George Bushes gormless face ;-) I hope the war is over soon because it is starting to effect the economy here in Brasil and petrol prices are already going higher and higher which pushes up the price of everything else which for the dirt poor people here in Brasil is very very bad :-( I read on the internet that Pope John Paul has been appealing for a peaceful way of sorting out the war problem but of course no one listened to him. I wonder what it must be like to be the spiritual leader of a religion and yet have no one listen to you, i think he must feel very very sad dont you?
That chicken is starting to really smell good lol, im going to see how much longer till we eat here as now i am starving and my coffee is not doing anything about it lol. I wonder if we can have genetically modified chicken with a brasilian coffee taste? :-)

Instapundit I read in newsweek magazine that this was one of the original weblogs so definately worth a look see :-). Also worth a read is Bestoftheblogs that i found this evening with a few interesting things and links on it....Gosh i just realised how bad my typing and spelling is lol.... Where is spell checker when i need it?????

An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind

Wow i must have overdosed on coffee this morning lol, i am really wired here :-). i am taking a break from sweeping and cleaning the house. Now you see why all of the coffee right? :-). Got U2 playing here at the moment cause i dont think the neighbours here would like to hear Guns And Roses full volume at 11am in the morning. Still maybe i should because they love to wake me up with their gospel music every sunday morning and i dont complain...... No i´ll behave lol.
Just looking at a pile of things here to mark for my students, they will get sorted later on i think after lunch. i like to mark my MEC stuff first as they have alot of sections to mark and it takes longer than the other groups as theirs is very simple stuff. I have a couple of students complaining this semester about having a native speaker as a teacher, i dont let this stress me though as it is the same every semester, insecure or weak students usually complain about me but the other groups enjoy having native speakers. I have a couple of groups that have complained to me that they asked me to be their teacher this semester and they have a different teacher lol. Maybe i will get these groups next semester as i enjoy to teach teenage groups as they are fun and active... Have to wait and see i guess.
Been watching the news about the war here, you know i love Saddams "Little Bush" nick for George Bush lol. Here we dont really get alot of coverage on the normal channels but on sat theres loads so i am usually behind on news from Iraq. Hopefully Bush will stop his little vendetta and get around the negotiation table because we should be able to solve this with out having a world war. Time for our fingers to be crossed yes? :-) Time for a joke about now i think......

The debate between George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein may not happen due to language problems. One of them does not have a firm grasp on the language and the other is from Iraq.

Later i am going to watch the star wars film Return Of the Jedi just for something to do. I thought that the last film though Attack Of The Clones was just terrible, pathetic. The last 20 minutes are the only good parts of the film. C´mon george get it together!!!!!!! We will have to hope that the final film will actually be worth watching, oh my god the other one was sooooooooo pitiful lol. To be honest i am watching the old films because they are in english and not many video stores here have english films. I manage to only find one that has a half decent stock of english stuff which isnt too bad as its only a few minutes walk from my workplace in planaltina :-).
I´d better finish the floors or i will never get them finished and will have to rush around later on :-)

The real differences around the world today are not between Jews and Arabs; Protestants and Catholics; Muslims, Croats, and Serbs. The real differences are between those who embrace peace and those who would destroy it; between those who look to the future and those who cling to the past; between those who open their arms and those who are determined to clench their fists.
- William J. Clinton

Omg...... it´s only 8.43am i need more sleep!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well with my coffee in hand and someone called Capital Inicial playing i am trying to wake up and not having alot of success lol. Can see a pile of stuff to mark but ill end up doing it this afternoon i guess once i have drank a litre or so of very strong coffee. Hmmmmmm they are MEC and will take ages to correct.
So why am i awake at this crazy time? well im waiting for a phone call about teaching at another school ran by a church. The money will come in handy and also the experience too of teaching different methodology. I wonder what sort of school it is, hopefully not a strict catholic one you know with the nuns with big sticks etc lol. If it all goes well then i may even start teaching there next week. The cash will be handy for my new computer because this one is a little slow and i will have one to use when my wife moves away to live in the city center.
I must remember to add my links to this site soon, i keep forgetting though to write the html and copy it into the template. I was toying with the idea of using the blogrolling thing to set the links up, i will have to have a look at the webpage for it later on this evening when i get time and if i am still able to stay awake then lol. I also gotta add my students email addresses to my outlook express and remember not to add them to my junk email filter because i got so much crap now in my email that anything i dont recognise i usually ban it straight without opening it :-) I wonder how much junk email i will get from my workplace now they have the internet too? lol Can we call it junk email if it is from our bosses? Hmmmmmm the big question right? Solve this and know the meaning of life and achieve ultimate spirituality and intergalactic oneness lol. Still if i dont have my computer i will be able to use the ones at work..... nice right? :-)
okay time to boot outlook up and see how many email addresses i have to block this morning, i am averaging around 5 addresses a day now..........

The war against terrorism is terrorism - Woody Harrellson

I´m wondering today if george bush really wants an end to his private little war in iraq as he never seems to have any idea about how long it will all last. More importantly how many people will die? in the 21st century when we could be doing so many things the first major thing that happens in a bloody war started by a greedy president in a country that has its nose in too many other countries businesses. Bush says he is doing it to protect other people from terror but mr bush let me tell you something m8 - dont you dare for one minute think you are doing those things for me - Not In My Name!!!!!!!!!!
anyway enough of that boring shite..... Just finished marking god knows how many things for work this afternoon, maybe ill even remember to take them to work too lol. Oops phone is ringing.......my estranged wife wanting a bit of help with some english stuff..the meanings of works etc. Funny thing is though that i had a couple to ask her and completely forgot all about it until id put the phone down :-) typical of me i know. i am looking out the window here and i think its going to rain here this afternoon. i hope that it will wait though until i get to work and then the sky can rip itself asunder. i like to use the illegal mini buses and taxis here because firstly people need the money and also they provide a fast safe ride to and from work for me. The bus fare here has increased by around 150% since i arrived and how are poor people supposed to be able to pay these amounts? but there isnt anything to show for the increase no new buses, no better contitions in the buses NADA!!!!!! The drivers of the clandestine buses and taxis tend to be really friendly too, my lack of portugues skills doesnt seem to bother them at all and they like trying to hold a conversation with me :-). I got talking to one guy who is going to work in ireland which was interesting, i think he will like it there as its very calm and peaceful...... Well it is when the IRA arent blowing everything up lol
Time for music.. what to listen to???? .Okay got the Queen cd on here, definately one of the uks best groups. they are right up there with U2 and the Rolling Stones :-). Freddy Mercury i think was the master showman, it didnt matter that he was gay he set the standard that everyone else is still trying to follow ... not many can manage to reach his level. Sadly the music here in Brasil tends to be the same few people singing the same songs they were singing whe ni got here 15 months ago. Trust me you dont wanna know who bloody evette sangalo is lol
time to go get ready for work, master english groups today :-). i love these guys as they speak excellent english and i dont have to struggle to understand them all either. A big hi to my students Narinha Ana Janine Delva Lucas Edmar Juliana and Rosana ....... I hope you got your stuff all done so i can mark it ;-)

Hmmmmm home at last :-). its been a long day today and i spent all morning marking stuff and this afternoon went into the center of planaltina to get some new tee shirts and this afternoon relaxed watching star wars before going to work this evening. Now im here coffee at hand and hands flying over my keyboard and no doubt making loads of terrible spelling mistakes at the same time but then never mind right? :-).
Its funny the first time i saw star wars everyone thought it was soooooooo cool but now i was just rolling around the floor laughing at some parts of the film. Oh yeah i still enjoy watching it but when your a kid you see it so differently but now some things had me doubled over in stitches of laughter :-). my friend tim from the states lent me the star wars trilogy to watch so for the next couple of days ill watch them all and the greatest thing of all it that they are all in ENGLISH Yeah!!!!!!!!!. i also managed to finish my book today aand it was quite good so if you get the chance you should pick up a copy and read it through okay. ive got to find something else to read now, looks like a trip to the bookstore or library i guess. We have some books here but they are Shakespeare and to be honest i find him terribly boring and dull. Just in theatre or ballet he should stay i think :-). I´ll have to find something with a few more pages as i get though a book in a day so you can imagine that i get through a pile of books very very quickly right? :-). anyway time to finish my coffee and check my email and get some sleep as i have to be up at 6am :-). Why did i want to be a teacher again? someone please remind me as its sometimes hard to remember lol

Just in from work and thought id have a few minutes online and check emails and blog a little too :-). i have beenteaching thw whole morning and afternoon and evening too and just sat here after dinner with a coffee and in a few minutes going to read my new book called Deep Cover By Joeseph Pistone. Its a good book i havent really put it down since i got it the other day.I will more than likely finish it by the end of today though, well tonite really as its already 8.20pm here in sunny brasil.
Yesterday went to price up for a new pc but the place i tried first has the cheapest price and the place i thought would be cheaper is in fact the most expensive. afterwords i went visiting a friends house and then walking up the road to the bus stop bumped into a teacher from my school and spent a couple of hours chatting with him in a little bar. Was good fun and got to chat to alot of the locals too who were busy watching football on the tv. In brasil football has a huge following. Being english here made sure that loads of people came over to say hi or to try talking with me. Quite a few teenagers too, i guess watching all the mtv here must make them want to communicate with native english speakers :-).
Anyway enough said tonite, i need more coffee and to lay down and rest a little with my book and later is going to be a film on the tv but no idea what its called....i forgot lol. Just i pity it will be in portugues and not english :-)
