What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans, and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty and democracy? - Gandhi

So to the parents of America, I am the derringer aimed at little Erica, to attack her character, the ringleader of this circus of worthless pawns, sent to lead the march right up to the steps of congress, and piss on the lawns of the White House, to burn the casket and replace it with a parental advisory sticker, to spit liquor in the faces of in this democracy of hypocrisy, fuck you Ms. Cheney, fuck you Tipper Gore, fuck you with the freest of speech this divided states of embarassment will allow me to have, Fuck you!!!!!
- Eminem

I got a little tired of the religious quotes so thought i would put something a little different and i cant get much more different than Eminem lol. The lyrics from his songs strike a chord with alot of young people around the world and the strong language never bothers me as alot of musicians i listen to use strong words in their lyrics. WASP, Guns And Roses etc all use strong language but their words strike home with people. I might do some Eminem quotes for a while... What do you guys think about that? lol

Okay as you can see im wide awake and after just three hours of sleep too so i must have needed them :-). Of course the two cups of coffee i just drank also helped right? ;-). In two hours i have class but ive already got everything ready so i can just relax for a little while :-). I have to find something to do for conversation class tomorrow too, ive already got a couple of ideas and will decide later which one i am going to do and prep the stuff for it. A few of the MEC students in the other school are real upset that conversation classes got cut back again and have been talking about doing something out of school instead where i have more freedom over what and how long i do things. Unfortunately although i think the students need to have conversation class especially advanced or MEC groups, there is only one hour every fortnite given over for me to do this and to be honest its not enough :-(. For me one hour a week for these guys isnt even enough, i would go at least two a week minimum. They didnt like me giving free time though in the school for some reason, now that i didnt understand because they didnt have to pay me. Hmmmmm weird aint it? lol. For me the students need to practise as much as they can because to gain more vocabulary isnt reading a book but speaking the language. I will see what they come up with and if i can fit it in i will go along with it, for me its because i get to speak english because i dont know many people here outside school that actually speak it lol. Plus these guys like speaking english too, there is no need for them to translate anything i say as they speak excellent english..... Although i get them to translate some stuff into portugues for me ;-).

Wow im writting a book here - English expression from Manchester that Gayle taught me lol. Funny i didnt really think i would use this weblog thing all that much but i guess i must do lol.

Anyway i had best get off here and get something to eat and get my arse outta here and be off to work. Until next time Ladies and Gentlemen....

"So, let's impeach god! I would like to announce my candidacy for the position of god; among other things, I promise to offer true and unquestionable proof of my existence, as the previous holder of the office of 'god' obviously failed to do."

Well im back and the review test is all done and ready for the students on Saturday although they wont find it too hard. OM3 are really good where it comes to grammar so most of the test is grammar stuff lol. It took a couple of hours and then apparently the main coordinator from the other school (we never see her Thank the gods) phoned to say she wanted copies of everything. This is so her teachers there don’t have to do anything, they just take a back seat and let everyone else do all the hard work. I added a little surprise to my questions though in the shape of passwording the document lol. I hate people that let everyone else do all the hard work, don’t you?

Im just relaxing here now, later I have classes to teach but its an easy lesson with hardly any prep to do for it so its just a bit of reading and stuff and they have LCP as well which gives me thirty minutes with nothing to do. Who knows, maybe today will be the day my stuff from my brother arrives. After all it has been three weeks now and surely cant take much longer. Can you see how slow the brasilian postal service here is? lol when i used to post stuff before sometimes it could take a month to get here from england. Im not sure why it takes so long, probably the customs here or something trying to stop illegal stuff coming into the country. Ill keep my fingers crossed and hope that it arrives soon although today would be great :-)

**Drinking coffee here - Please wait lol**

I think i will sleep in a while as i feel so tired, whether this is just because this week i have been struggling to get motivated or just because i was up early today i dont know. I hope it passes soon. Maybe i should go get some stuff from pharmacist you know like Vitimin tablets lol. I must be starting to feel all of my years or something lol.

I read an interesting teenagers weblog the other day and posted it to this site, i love reading the crazy stuff they put into their weblogs and some of it is just so funny lol. I dont think that any of my students have a weblog itself but one has a website somewhere about anime. Sometimes its fun just to roam around and read other peoples lives etc in their weblogs although i think personally that my life is probably just a little on the boring side lol.

Gosh im feeling tired, ill stop here and go have a couple of hours worth of sleep and see if i feel more energetic later. Bye bye :-)

Ive just got up and still sinking coffee so no quote yet okay? - John

Okay im up and trying to wake up here sinking loads of coffee but its taking a long time today. This week for some reason i just cant seem to get going, why i dont know. Maybe its because its near the end of the semester or just that im tired.. not that it matters lol. Ill just change to a stronger brand of coffee, that should do the trick right? ;-)

**Playing Eminem - White America**

Oh yeah nothing like eminem at this time of the morning, the lyrics to some of his songs really crack me up with laughter lol. The thing i like the most though is that he doesnt shy away from any subject and never pulls punches. Oh and also like me he cant stand Moby ;-)

Ive got to get over to CCAA in a minute as i have to create a review test for my OM3 group and it will only take me an hour or so i would guess. I have made so many questions this last couple of weeks that i feel like one of those quiz game hosts but of course i dont get paid the amounts of cash they get paid lol. I will just do about 30 or so i think, ill just find the easiest stuff to put into the test so that it doesnt take them too long to get it all finished :-).

Ha ha the coffee is finally working.. its time to get showered and get out of here and get something done. Have a good un okay? :-)

"As soon as I start to ask about going somewhere, my dad'll be like, 'What would Jesus do, Emily?' And, 'I don't think Jesus would do that.' It gets on my nerves. I'm like, 'I don't know what Jesus would do. I think Jesus might go.'"
-Emily

Just dosing up on coffee here lol, ive managed to get two groups set with extra classes now and just have the weekend group from Saturday sorted out and then im all set. Its near the end of the semester and im in need of a rest. I wonder if ill get to teach different groups next semester as I have taught one group of lessons three times in half a year. To do something different will be nice as it stops me getting bored. I like teenagers though as they are very animated and love to talk as much as i do :-). Im bound to get MEC groups again though i would think as with being english its a done deal dont you think? lol. the nice thing about MEC is that the lesson is very different so i get to do things a little differently and they get to watch funny american comedies too which have crazy actors and people in all of them lol.

Hmmm i have Sobradinho this afternoon, Two MEC groups which is okay but the atmosphere there is very different for some reason. Maybe its just because i am ready for some downtime though as i always seem to be doing something and having no time to just do something different from methodology lol. They even cut back on the amount of conversation classes that i can give but the students are talking about having conversation classes outside of CCAA, maybe just all of us getting together and meeting up somewhere to do something just in english with no control from the school. A few weeks and i can just unplug a little, well apart from having all the stand-by hours that i have to serve at both schools :-(. Some teachers have told me they are looking for other places, i wonder how many will be left that i know at the start of the new semester?

**Playing at the mo.. Bon Jovi - One Wild Nite**

I noticed that they are making more preparations for some religious festival or party that i think will be at the weekend but i will not attend this. I guess they are going to have live music and stuff and a few of my students were asking me if i will go to a party late saturday night to celebrate this religious passing but to be honest im not all that religious so for me would really not be so interesting i would imagine lol. I was a little suprised really that the people here in this city would go so crazy about religion as i have seen how they treat people here and it has to be said that they treat people especially poor people very very badly and thats the truth :-(. The week after though i am going to a party :-), yeah me at a party. Its very rare that i go to any parties but this time i decided that i would attend for fun :-). I know that there will be at least a couple of people there who will speak english as the person who invited me told me that there is a young lady from one of her groups going too :-). Im not really all that good a dancer and its country and western so can you imagine me doing line dancing? lol. Oh my god that will be so embarassing lol. We will see what we will see wont we?

Wow its starting to really warm up here now, im soaked just sitting here typing on the keyboard lol. Hmmm then it might be the fact that i cant type to save my life right? lol. I need come Pepsi so im going to end here and nip to the corner store to get some and then get to correcting some stuff for the groups later this afternoon. Do you guys wanna Pepsi too? ;-)

"'And don't tell me God works in mysterious ways,' Yossarian continued. 'There's nothing mysterious about it, He's not working at all. He's playing. Or else He's forgotten all about us. That's the kind of God you people talk about, a country bumpkin, a clumsy, bungling, brainless, conceited, uncouth hayseed. Good God, how much reverence can you have for a Supreme Being who finds it necessary to include such phenomena as phlegm and tooth decay in His divine system of Creation? What in the world was running through that warped, evil, scatological mind of His when He robbed old people of the power to control their bowel movements? Why in the world did He ever create pain?'"
-Joseph Heller, Catch22

I love these quotes.. some of them are just so funny although I guess there will more than likely be some people who don’t like them or have no sense of humor. But I think that its good to be able to laugh and smile once in a while, too much seriousness isn’t good for our minds and hearts. I am running out of these religious quotes so it will soon be time to start looking for some more on a different subject. I wonder what I will come up with for the next ones? Lol.

I didn't do too badly at counterstrike and only got half-thrashed by the teens there this afternoon lol. I like to pass time there though just to do something different and the fact my portugues isn’t very good makes no difference there because its just computers and playing net games. I like to relax there for an hour or two and just have fun. I will have to ask my brother if he can get some different games just for fun like unreal tournament 2 etc so they can try them out on their LAN as counterstrike gets a bit boring after a while. Ill email him over the weekend and see what he has to say.

I havent had time to get any more photos from my family put here yet but will when i ge theme park.
Let me count the ways....
-The park is a few miles west of Milwaukee, much like theme parks are on the outskirts of big towns.
-Everything is very new looking, and the place is very brightly colored. Much of the park has this bright bluish hue.
-We stood in line to buy tickets for 30 MINUTES. It was like waiting in the line for the Ninja at Six Flags but instead of going upside-down at 70 mph, a guy named Bill handed me three pieces of paper. H

Okay im outta here as i have to get something to eat and get some stuff ready for classes later on tonite and they are about to find out they need to have an extra class so you can imagine how thrilled they will be about that right? ;-)

"religions are founded on the fear of the many and the cleverness of the few."

Its 8am here and ive got my coffee and checking my email as I type here. The connection speed of this city is so slow today, but of course telebrasilia wont be complaining about that as they charge by the second from what I understand. Its actually a nice morning here right now, not too hot and later on I think I will go play counterstrike with the guys at the other end of the city. I have nothing to do for most of the day either as my classes are mostly at night. Hmmmm I wonder what sort of mischief I can get up to? ;-). Im sure I can think of something… maybe ill teach the neighbors some new English music lol. Let me see what music I can listen to right now

**Searching the cd piles**

**Playing - Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some lovin**

Okay just for a change something a little different although I liked the cover version that Thunder did a few years ago more. Do you get the idea that I don’t like quiet music?. Well its just not true… I like quiet gentle music just so long as its loud okay? ;-). Really its to drown out the gospel music that people here in Estancia seem to like playing, its okay once in a while but after a few months of listening to it you can imagine how my ears must be feeling right?. They should try to make this sort of music at least exciting, hmmm they need to imagine how Axl Rose or Jean Simmons would sing these songs and then liven them up by about 1000% lol. Of course though the american group WASP had the best idea when it came to religious music by just singing about anything that offended it or offending anyone lol. I found this to be quite funny but some people didnt, had no sense of humor i guess. Some of their songs are classics in their own rights but their cds are next to impossible to get here in Brasil.. Looks like i might have to ring my brother in England again. He will be getting sick of me soon as im always getting him to send cds and stuff here for me :-).

Im still waiting for his last lot of stuff to arrive... Cmon Brasil what is happening with the postal service here? I used to post stuff the the states from the UK and it would arrive sometimes within two days yet here two weeks have gone by and its still not arrived yet? :-(. I bet not alot of people by shares here in the brasilian post office services lol. I thought the one in England was bad but my eyes have been opened ;-).

Well i guess i had better go and get some emails typed up and think about going up to Villa Buritis to spend an hour or so getting my arse kicked by the teenagers in Connexions.

The eclipse from my parents house in England

Sorry this pic isnt very good, this was about the best one i had that looked okay when i shrank it down a little to post it here. I will see if my bro has any better ones he can send to me :-)

"The Bible as we have it contains elements that are scientifically incorrect or even morally repugnant. No amount of 'explaining away' can convince us that such passages are the product of Divine Wisdom."

Well i had a strange morning at work today, im not really sure what it was all about as they spoke only portugues so for me i guess its just nothing to worry about right? lol. It confuses me that they dont bother asking someone to translate or just to speak slower so i can get what they are saying. Oh well so long as i get paid thats all that matters isnt it? :-)

I got some photos from my brother the other day of the eclipse in the Uk which were kinda interesting. It wasnt as spectaculat as the one of the moon here the other night but was fun to see it and he got up at 5am to take the pics for me so nice one bro lol. There is another one here in Brasil later in the year around december i think so ill be up to watch that one too :-). I will maybe post a pic or two here so you guys can see them okay. I have to shove them through the photo program first though so might take a day or two for me to get them all sorted out :-).

Im still waiting for the cds from my family in the UK to arrive too, i hope they get here this week as there are loads of new english music cds for me to listen too so you can guess i am really looking forward to listening to them right? lol. also there are some films too, but the music is the most important lol. A couple of my students are looking forward to listening to the Offspring cds that my brother has sent me as they are just getting into american and english music so for them this will be nice as the Offspring are really good or Legal as they say here lol. I will have to send them some brasilian music in return, oh i can just imagine my brothers face when he listens to it and also the language he would use as well ;-). Ill spare them and send them something at least interesting, which wont be easy as i dont know alot of brasilian music. Will ask my spice girl students what they would recommend for my brother who listens to heavy metal lol. Yes i said the spice girls so a BIG hi to Larissa, Fabiana and Ariel!!!!!!!

I had to rush finishing marking my stuff before i got online as yesterday i went to visit friends here and just forgot all about the excercises lol. I went to watch The Matrix 1 with my friend Tim and his daughter and her friends. His daughter Jessica is so funny as she is only little and talks fluent portugues and english too and switches languages mid sentence which makes it very interesting for me as you guys can imagine lol. and i struggle with just english ;-). Still they are all corrected now so i can dump them off later on ready for the next pile that will arrive this afternoon. I found out the other day that im not supposed to correct my master class ones as they do it themselves but no one told me about it and its getting near the end of the semester so im not really bothered now lol. I never get stressed about anything if i can help it :-). Trust me for what i get paid an hour nothing ever gets under my skin, the cure??? Lots of caffeine works well ;-).

Okay ill stop here and go eat and maybe get time to sort out those eclipse photos from my brother too although they arent too clear. Maybe photoshop will make them a little better...
